The 2026 Golden Globes have come and gone, but there’s still one question that’s weighing on our minds: Who was Leonardo DiCaprio engaging in such an animated conversation with?

The actor, who was nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Film at this year’s Golden Globes for his role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, reminded us that he still has a sense of humor, despite his private personal life and prestigious award wins over the years.

During last night’s ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, Leo was spotted chatting with someone in the middle of a commercial break. Of course, clips of the interaction made their rounds on the internet during the Globes, and we couldn’t help but wonder what Leo was talking about.

Seriously, where’s that TikTok lip reader when you need her? Leo’s lively facial expressions and little finger wag were truly the stars of the show, and per the show’s footage, it appears that he’s talking about K-pop.

“I was watching you with the K-pop thing,” he seemingly said in the clip, which is inaudible. “You were like, ‘Who’s that? Is that? Oh, K-pop.’” While we couldn’t see who he was speaking to on camera, fans theorize that it could be his One Battle After Another co-star/K-pop superfan, Chase Infiniti.

Fans had a field day with Leo’s interaction once they caught wind of the clip. “He created a hundred memes in 30 [seconds],” one person wrote in the Golden Globes’ TikTok comments section, while another added, “Dude just showed his acting range while sitting on the table at the Globes.”

Thank you, Leo, for reminding us that you’re just a silly little guy who just happens to have an Oscar.
